Earth Friendly Invites

I'm so excited and upset at the same time. I came across an awesome blog the other nite while blogging. It's Earth Friendly Wedding Blog! It's the official blog of earthlyaffair.com . I was so excited to come across it because anything to do with "earth friendly" I love....but at the same time I was so upset because I would have LOVED to order from this site for my wedding. I did have recycled invitations which I loved...but this site gives you more options and many different designs. They even donate a part of the portions to environmentmental projects. So Cool!
The blog has many earth friendly ideas and creative inspirations, so even if your not an upcoming bride you can get lots of "earth friendly" ideas from the blog. I can't wait to keep up to date with Earth Friendly Wedding Blog and get ideas for lots of stuff around the house. The blog also has tons of resource links that will help you find just about anything you need to know about helping the environment. I really wish I would have came across this blog before my wedding. Even if I couldn't have ordered the invites from the webpage because I had them ordered already, I could have used alot of her resource links to get even more ideas for decorating my wedding. Anyways, even if your not getting married go check out the blog. If your anything like me when it comes to the environment you'll really enjoy it. :o) Tell Jennifer I sent ya!

something to keep in mind during your best friends wedding.

Back in July I was married to my wonderful husband. I had four bridesmaids. Of course even though bridesmaids say "it doesn't matter where i'm at in "the line." you know...what order they stand in... maid of honor....to the last person in line.. but i think to some bridesmaids it does matter. Before Robyn's wedding last weekend I had only been in one other friend's wedding. She had like 8 or 9 bridesmaids and most of them were her family so I really didn't mind what order I was in. (to tell ya the truth I can't even remember there was so many of us..hehe) Anyways...when i decided to have four bridesmaids I wasn't sure at first what order I would put them in. Do I line them up in order of how long I've known each of them? Do I line them up on how close we are? Do I line them up on who I have the most fun with?? I had no idea how to line them up. They all were very important to me and if any of those four girls weren't there that day I would have been sad that they were missing out on my important day. I ended up choosing the order for many different reasons.. the girl i chose to be maid of honor i had known the 2nd longest...and she's the one we do everything together and she's always there for me. No matter what. If I called her at 4 am and needed her go to get me a glass of milk because my belly hurt...she would. It ended up the girl I had known the longest ended up being last in line. I loved her just the same as the other 3 but we just wasn't as close as we had been in the past... I was actually closer to the other 3. The funny thing is out of all 4 of my bridesmaids the one that helped me the most that day was bridesmaid number 4. I learned that she was there for me that day. She helped me do everything.. and she gave me good advice and stayed right by my side until the end of the night...because it was my day and she respected that. Maybe it was because she had already had her day and she knew what it was like to have someone care as much as you do about "your day." Even JC noticed that and mentioned to me that he was glad Ashley was there to help me so much. He noticed that out of all 4 of my girls she seemed the one who wanted to make sure I was happy with everything. Since that day we've became much closer and I hope we continue to get closer in the future. Maybe it's the "married women" bond...I don't know. But I will always remember how all the little things she did that day...meant so much.
At my wedding Robyn caught my bouquet and her and Ian enjoyed my wedding and reception so much fun they decided they wanted to get married sooner than later...so when they decided to get married I decided that I would be "that bridesmaid" that put aside her worries of "how do i look?" "did i do this?" "did i do that?" and only worry about the bride. I made sure I was by Robyn's side the minute i got to the church to get married and helped her do everything. I even took pictures of her getting ready and such since her photographer was in the auditorium behind on pictures...(not the photographers fault..the unorganized bridal party's fault..hehe) I made sure that when she was hiding out in a room so that her and Ian didn't see each other before the ceremony I was there to hold her shoes and flowers and take pictures of the candid moments. I was there when she needed anything from going to make sure Ian is okay...to helping her put some glitter on to make her shiny. hehe I made sure I was there to help her decorate and see that all her dreams of "the perfect wedding" happened... I was also the bridesmaid who didn't get plastered at the wedding...but the one who drank and had fun but was ready to help take gifts to the car and take down decorations so that she didn't have to. So that she could enjoy her special day and not have to worry about all the technical stuff. I hope that Robyn's wedding was everything she imagined and more. I also hope that she felt the love and care i put into making sure she was happy. And hopefully one day she'll pass that on to someones wedding that she's in. Because it doesn't matter which bridesmaid you are or where you stand or when you walk down the isle...it's the brides day....so as long as she's happy...that's all that matters. Thank you Ashley for being by my side on my wedding day. I'll never forget how important my happiness was to you that day. Thank You.

robyn's wedding was beautiful and my best friends are the best

so on October 11, 2008 after like 9 years of dating my friend Robyn & her boyfriend Ian were finally married.. it was a day that i always knew would come eventually, just wasn't sure when. everything looked beautiful. Friday (the 10th) was their rehearsal but it was also my cousin Derrik's Football Senior Night so I couldn't miss it. but after the game I went to the legion where the reception was being held and helped decorate...everything went together so well. i love the whole "fall theme" wedding.. if JC and I couldn't have had a summer wedding...a fall wedding would have been it. then Saturday Kari and I went and got our hair done and then went to the church to start getting ready for pictures and stuff. Ian was in the bathroom vomiting for hours before the wedding.. he said he thought he was getting sick..but i think it was nerves.. anyways we didn't think he would make it thru the ceremony without getting sick..but he did. it went well and after a few pictures after the ceremony we were off to the reception. the rest of the night went good..it was so much fun... apparently i must have drank after someone who had some germs because I'm now miserably sick. sore throat, runny nose, coughing, tight chest.... GREAT! i hate being sick... i was hoping now that i don't work at a doctors office i won't get sick anymore but apparently that's not true.
but even though I'm sick now it was well worth it because i had alot of fun on Saturday night. Justin was only there for about an hour because he had played football and softball all day so he was pretty sore and tired.. so he ended up going home but for the most part i had fun with my friends. speaking of my friends...i have 4 best friends. 2 of them don't have the best luck with guys.. the guys they do date are worthless druggie losers who will never have a future. take for instance first my best friend tabby...she dated a guy who was physically and mental abusive and just didn't treat her the way she should be treated...they dated after high school but she finally was tired of the bullshit and they split up...she's been with a couple of guys since then for short periods of time but the nice ones she just didn't feel the same i guess...so they broke up. she's a pretty girl who would treat any man so good. she'd cook, clean, and do whatever to make them happy. she's sorta the "old fashioned" house type of person. but as a guy i would think that's a huge plus. there are alot of guys i meet thru JC playing softball or work or whatever that I would LOVE to hook tabby up with but sometimes it just seems like a loss cause because I feel like they aren't her type... that she wouldn't be interested.... so Ian has a friend (who's been in jail at least three times) who I guess him and Robyn is trying to hook Tabby up with. Well I didn't really know the whole story but ht was at the wedding and him and Tabby was dancing...and I told her that I felt like she was taking a step back. which i truly believe she is. he just got out of jail...he can't find a good job because of his record...and he drinks.. ALOT.. why would you want to start a relationship with this guy? i don't understand why she sets her standards so low?? she could do SO MUCH BETTER!
now..my friend Kari...let me just say she is BEAUTIFUL... i mean she is sooo pretty... yes...she's got a little meat on her bones...but hey what girl isn't?? i think skinny girls who don't have any meat on them is disgusting.. girls with a little meet are gorgeous. she's lost like over 50 lbs. and she looks good. damn good. the guy she is with on the other hand...is damn ugly. haha and he's a dick. he calls her every name in the book and he's just downright mean to her. they once dated back about 2 years ago....he was okay when they first started dating but he started changing (he was on drugs real bad...stopped for Kari..but then started back on them again). one night I got a call from my mom saying that on the police scanner it gave Kari's name and said "domestic dispute." i jumped in my car and took off down the road to their house.. i found their place in a mess where he was throwing things and going crazy and Kari sitting on the porch crying... she said i want to leave and before she got the word leave out of her mouth i was calling my family and JC to get every truck they own and come help me load up her stuff... while she sat and watched all her hard work of trying to make a happy home fall apart... i was loading up trucks with everything she owned... they stayed split up for a bout a year...she just did the single thing and we went out alot having alot of fun...her and mike got back together around march 2007.... i didn't like the idea but if that's what she thought would make her happy...then okay. she has to learn from herself...so then in august of 2007 she knew that her weight was making her unhappy... she didn't like the way she looked and she decided to do something about it. so by around the new year she had lost almost 50 lbs...and has kept it off and kept losing up until now...one year later. anyways..her and mike are still dating but he's starting to change again...is he on drugs again??? maybe... is he selling drugs again?? maybe... i don't know..but i do know for the past month or two Kari just doesn't seem happy....i wish she'd break up with him and let me introduce her to some guys that would treat her good. even if they don't fall in love and get married... at least find some guy friends that you guys can go out to the movies and hang out together and have fun. she deserves somebody who is kind and generous and someone who puts her first... not what she has now...not someone who doesn't have a steady job or a drivers license..or a car....or a future..
Kari is a lot like me..she wants things in life.. nice things... nice car, nice house, nice stuff, kids, a future..a promising future. and she deserves EVERY SINGLE THING. but with the guy she is with now...she'll never get those things... she told me over the weekend that she's been wanting to leave him for the last month or so but just never really got the balls to do it.. but she said she thinks shes ready....i haven't talked to her since Sunday so I'm not sure what's happened this past week but whatever it is i hope she knows I'm here for her and whatever she needs I'll do. ***i talked to tabby..who talked to kari and i guess mike called crying and really upset so she told him she would give him one month to straighten up or she's leaving him....we'll see what happens..i don't think he can do it...but maybe he'll prove me wrong....we'll see.***  i just want her and tabby both to be happy. Robyn & I are both married...and were both happy. That's all we want for our other two friends is the same. It took me 7 years and Robyn 9 years to finally tie the knot..haha but we both always knew it was coming.... i think it's coming for Kari and tabby too...atleast if i have anything to say about it....
i have the best friends ever and maybe I'm being too involved in their relationships..i don't know.. maybe i am?? the thing is I'm so extremely happy in my life that i want the same for them. i want them to feel what it feels like to be so in love. i want them to know what its like to wake up in the morning next to someone who would die for you. i want them to be happy because they deserve it. i think if it was the other way around..they'd do the same for me...
speaking of life being awesome...it is. hehe i love this time of year... the leaves are falling and the weather is changing... I really want to have people over this weekend to wear hoodies and flip flops and enjoy the weather outside....but I'm sick.. so that probably wont' happen..but I'm hoping to plan for it for next Saturday..we'll see what happens...
Yesterday was "The Covered Bridge Festival" in Mansfield & Bridgeton Indiana. I go every year.... mostly for the food but I buy stuff too. hehe I bought one of those limestone rock things that you see in people's yards with their last names on them. I'll take pics when I feel a little better...but I LOVE IT! It turned out sooo good. I've been wanting one forever but I had to wait until we got married otherwise it wouldn't really make since for it to say "The Copeland's" and I wasn't one yet. :o)

Got a spare half million dollars? Buy the Cowboys end zone! I would!

Source : Yahoo! Sports
You can buy the Cowboys end zone out of the old Texas Stadium. It's only $500,000 (installation not included; please contact your local end zone installer). That's AWESOME!!! I would so buy it.. haha if i had an extra half a mil laying around ya know. hehe it would be a pretty cool thing to have in your yard... have people over for a bbq and show them your endzone. haha atleast you wouldn't have to mow it....
you can buy it at Neiman Marcus if your interested. :o)

hef's new girlfriends

so i'm a HUGE girls next door fan. kendra is my fave but i like all three and i really enjoy watching their show. jc and i both have watched it since season 1 : episode 1. rumours have started to flair about hef and his three ladies breaking up...so i've been searching you tube and online trying to figure out what the hell is going on. apparently he's got three new ladies in his life. meet The Shannon Twins. Some how I just can't imagine that at 19 years old that they enjoy being in a relationship with an 82 year old man. hmm... he also dating Amy Leigh Andrews, a 23 year old from hotlanta. hmm..i just think this is so strange. no i didn't think that bridgett, holly, and kendra were gonna be with hef forever.. BUT i did think that holly and hef was gonna be together until he died. haha she actually seemed like she really loved him.. maybe she's just a good actress and can hold the vomit down while being "frisky" with him...haha but i really thought they would last.... hmm...apparently The Shannon Twins are going to appear on the new season of the girls next door. i hope that if they do take bridgett, holly, & kendra off the show...the show flops and gets cancelled. On The Shannon Twins myspace their quote says "We shoot for the moon, because even if we miss we'll land in the stars." haha You sure landed in the fuckin' stars now didn't ya...he's 82...he outta be kicking the bucket soon... so use him and get famous and rich...then he'll die.. ha! ugg...I feel really bad for kendra, holly, & bridgett. kendra said on chelsea lately the other nite that she feels bad for hef... i don't know why.. he's probably enjoying life.. two 19 year old twins...hello?? like he cares this his three "older" girlfriends are gone. i feel bad because these girls are coming in and trying to like "take over" their lives... kendra called them all "random ass hoes." :o)

my craft room...before renovation...

so back a few posts ago i was talking about renovating my craft room.  when we first moved in it was our spare bedroom/snoopy room. it held my LARGE snoopy collection and a day bed for when friends stayed over.  in may of 2007 i decided that i no longer needed the large amount of snoopy collectables that i had.  so i sold ALOT of stuff.  i still kept quite a bit and organized it into my curio cabinet.  i then took the daybed out and moved the computer desk in using it more as a computer room.  then for christmas my grandma bought me a sewing machine.  i had been wanting to start sewing/crafting so i decided i'm turning it into a craft room.  so it fit the purpose for a while..but now i'm wanting to really get into it. i want to start sewing more and designing more.  and right now it's just not happening with the small amount of workspace.  so i've been searching flickr and blogs to get ideas on how to set up a workspace that will work for me.  so in this post is my before pictures. these were taken in september 2008...i'm hoping that this month to start working on my craft room. the
things i want to get done in october are : 1. (i'm scared to death of spiders and i want to make this room completely air tight. hehe meaning to spiders can sneak it) caulk every single little crack or hole in the wall. 2. paint the top walls green with a green drybush finish over it. 3. freshen up the bottom half of the wall with fresh white paint. 4. atleast buy the products for my homemade workspace and start laying it out.   i'm super excited about getting this project going... and it's going to be fairly cheap from what i've added up so far.  the wood that i'm using for my workspace is only gonna cost me around $25.  then i have to buy some legs to use to hold it up but i can't imagine that costing too much money.  i really want to get started soon but i have robyn's wedding this saturday and then next week is the annual "covered bridge festival" that i always go to.  so all my extra money is going towards that.  so this project is starting off slow.. but once that's over with i'm hoping to put some of my extra money towards it. if i could just get it painted that will be a huge step.  i'm painting over the wallpaper which i'm not sure about...but underneath that wallpaper is more wallpaper and under that i have no idea.. so i plan on putting primer over the wallpaper and then    painting...   i want to buy some shelves at ikea to put on the wall to hold alot of my fabric and crafting supplies but we don't have an ikea anywhere near me so i'd have to order it online.  i'm not sure on shipping costs but i know i don't have tons of money to pay lots of s + h.  so i'm hoping that a. it's cheap or b. i can find some shelves at local stores that work just as good.  gosh...i wish i could just snap my fingers and i'd have about $250 in cash in front of me to get this thing finished... i love doing the work...i'm so ready to do the work... i just need the money.  i am selling my apple ibook and our entertainment center on ebay.  so i'm hoping that they both sell and i can put that money towards starting on this room.  it needs help!!

had to tell you guys about these. . .

So I was catching up on my blogs this morning and over on My Life {as a Sugar Lander} she posted about some awesome candles she found at Yankee Candle Store.  OH MY GOSH!! I've been looking for this EXACT thing forever...except i sorta had it made up in my head because i didn't know it existed... BUT IT DOES NOW!!  I am so freakin' excited about these that as soon as I'm done posting I'm driving to town to go to the mall and visit our Yankee Candle store.  You can check them out online here.  They aren't bad in price either.. I am sooo in need of candles JC usually buys me like 5 - 10 as one of my christmas gifts just because we go thru them so much.  But i've used all mine up from my christmas gift last year and then some. haha  But i've been wanting some nice soy candles and I can't wait til after my candle burns down because i have soooo many ideas of what i want to do with the empty candle jar once the candle is burnt up. hehe  I don't have alot of money right now with Robyn's wedding coming up this saturday so i'll probably only be able to purchase one...but it's definately on my Wishpot.com wish list.
Also....Britney Spear's new single "Womanizer" is available for downloads on iTunes today.  Check it out. . .  I LOVE IT!  Her complete album "Circus" comes out on December 2, 2008 (her birthday).  I already told Tabby to be ready were going to Wal-Mart at midnight!!! :o)  Also, I'm adding a link over in my link list to my flickr page so you guys can see all my wedding pictures.  I also am slowly but surely adding all my pictures from my facebook/myspace account.  I get so tired of having to upload them to each of them....and now i have a flickr account.  So i think i'm just going to upload the pics once to flickr..and that's it.

vote for me. . .

Visit Martha Stewart : Creative Wedding Favors and vote for the Wedding Favor that you think is most creative...or you could just vote for mine. hehe  Hey.. I think mine is very creative especially considering that it's something that can be used over and over again.  Not a wedding favor that will just be thrown away in a few days and forgotten about.  Any family get together i go to either on my side or justin's side i see people with these on their drinks.  I love them!!!
Also, my little football jersey's were a huge hit!  Everyone loved them.
Oh...and I just realized the other nite that my cousin Derrik's senior night is this friday which is also robyn's wedding rehearsal.  I've known this forever but just put two and two together that they are the same nite.  Obviously i'm going to my cousin's game.  I just feel really bad and am afraid that Robyn's gonna be mad.  I mean i've been in like 4 weddings plus my own just a few months ago...so i think i can manage figuring out how to walk down the isle. hehe... plus that day before the wedding tabby could show me where i need to stand and stuff..  Hell...JC's best man had to work the nite of our rehearsal and it wasn't a big deal.. tabby showed him where to walk down and where to stand and it was fine... Tabby thinks Robyn's gonna be really pissed off about it.  I guess she's been a real "bridezilla" from what everyone has told me.  That's what she gets for deciding to get married in 2 months. haha I was so laid back and happy the whole 2 months up to my wedding.. It was great... and the day of the wedding even though i had bridesmaid drama... i didn't care..i was soo happy.  Hell i'd get married every year to jc if he wanted...and if someone paid for the wedding of course...cause they're damn expensive. hehe

spread the love

i'm lazy. . .

so i really do enjoy blogging...but i actually like looking thru other peoples blogs more. haha i don' t have a job and so what else do i have to do. i should just sit at home all day long and blog... right? no..instead i sit for house staring at the screen going thru hundreds of blogs... and when i find a blog that i really enjoy..i read the WHOLE thing...all the way to the first post. i recently came across My Life {as a Sugar Lander}. I absolutely LOVE this blog...she is very creative and gives me lots of good ideas for things i'd love to do here at my own home. She also makes me CRAVE a GOCCO!!! I've wanted one for months but with me having no job...it's kind of hard to throw out a couple hundred bucks to purchase one. I will have one..one day. But they stopped making them so they'll probably just get more expensive as time goes on. Anyways, check out her blog..i read it all the way back to the first post and it makes me want to be a Sugar Lander...
I also came across The Blissful Bride. After getting married I"m still obsessed with EVERYTHING weddings.. I don't know why.. It's not like i'm ever getting married again... I plan on being with this one forever. hehe :o) One of my bridesmaids is getting married next saturday...so i was thinking maybe I'm just still into everything wedding because I just got married and now she's getting married...yeah that's it. So i was thinking that after next saturday no more obessesive wedding stuff...but now... my best friend, tabby, and I decided we might be interested in starting a business together. I've wanted to start my own business since the age of 5. I'm just not one to have a boss. haha and i'm so creative and the usual 9-5 job makes me want to bite my fingernails down to the quick. haha i can't stand being inside a boring office all day long.. it drives me crazy. i'm not an "office" type of person... and if i was to have an office for my business...it's gotta have windows and colors and attitude... so anyways...i totally rambled on forever about weddings...anyways.. now that tabby and i are thinking about starting a wedding/event planning company or something..haha i find myself still surfing on any wedding blog I can find.. so when i came across The Blissful Bride I read it all the way thru and got some really good ideas on some things that I would love to incorporate if we do start a wedding planning company.
I then came across Arsty Farsty Shopaholic. When I saw the title i thought oh my gosh..that's me. haha So i started reading this blog...and once again read it from end to beginning. hehe I absolutely love her purse patterns. I just purchased one of her purse patterns and I plan on making a purse for myself of course..but also for a few people for christmas gifts. I'm trying to make everything handmade this christmas season. I know that's not a realistic goal so this year my goal is 50% of my gifts are going to be handmade...and hopefully next year 100%. I can't wait to get started on the purse. I received my pattern in the mail last week and it looks fairly easy to understand. And i know NOTHING about sewing.. so if I can understand it...if you have any bit of sewing ability or knowledge that it'd be a piece of cake for you. So I can't wait until I get some extra money to go buy some fabric because i'll be busy sewing....
So like i said tabby and i are wanting to start a business. I don't know if its a realistic goal or not but we'll see what happens. The thing is I have no doubt in my mind that i could start my own business. the thing is..it takes money to make money...and when you have no money to start with...what do you do? So slowly but surely i'm trying to purchase things here and there that I would need to make cookies, cupcakes, cakes...or invitations...etc. But I sat down and thought of everything I needed to be serious and with the purchase of products for my computer and products for cutting paper and baking and taking pictures.... ha..your looking at i need to spend around $3500 hmm....any ideas?

married life is awesome. i love jc more and more eachday.. we get along so well. i mean we got along well before we were married (obviously since we were together for 7 years) but i had heard alot of people say "oh marriage is different" which.. it is but in a good way. it's more forever. i mean we always said we'd be together forever BUT...there wasn't anything proving it. now there is. were married and were in love..and were gonna be together forever. :o)
Here are some cookies I made for my cousin's football game 2nite. They turned out really well. I need a better way of applying the icing to the cookie. I just used a butter knife but that leaves lines....i need to get a tip for my pastry bag where i can just apply it on there with that. It'd look much better. More professional. They turned out well though for my first time making little jerseys. haha I also made some footballs that you can see in the corner of the first pic. They turned out okay but the icing was a little thicker than usual and my hand was sooo sore from squeezing the icing out because on top of these i also made about two dozen pumpkin cookies... So by the time i got around to lining the football's and adding the NC to them...my hand was permanately in the squeeze position but didn't have any power left.. haha so i switched to my left hand but it's not as talented as my right hand. haha so they didn't turn out as well. Oh well..my aunt and my cousin likes them so that's all that matters. The number 34 is my cousin.. my aunt wanted me to make alot of those for all the family...and then the 45 and for his friend Dylan and the 78 is for his friend Caleb. I think for sectionals i'm going to make a cookie bouquet with green jerseys and white jerseys and footballs. I made the pumpkin ones to take to my moms get together she's having tomorrow. I think they turned out okay but I definately think with a large flat tip applying the icing it will look much better than flopping it on there with a butter knife.
well hmm...next week's unemployment pay is pretty much going all to bills....then the next pay i should have a little bit of extra cash which i'm hoping to buy paint and i'm going to paint my craft room. i took some pictures of it how it looks now but i uploaded them to my desktop computer and i'm on my laptop right now..so i'll post them on my next post. I can't wait to re'do that room. When my dad purchased and remodeled this house ...we gutted the whole damn thing EXCEPT for the two rooms that had been built on to the original house sometime in the 50's. So...dad put new floors in the two rooms but we used the original walls and ceilings. At the time it was saving us money on drywall and labor for someone to mudd the drywall.. so instead of painting we but beadboard halfway up with a chair rail and then wallpapered the top half of the room. It looked okay at the time and still looks okay. But it's very "countryish" and yes the rest of my house as a "country" feel... the craft room is too country.. bears and birdhouses...oh no. So... My plan is to paint over the wallpaper with a green color and then do a lighter green on top with a drybrush. I found the colors on Benjamin Moore Paints webpage and the closest store that carries this brand is 45 minutes away... So I'm gonna measure the room and find out EXACTLY how much paint i'll need..because I don't want to have to make another trip because I ran outta paint. I think it will turn out great.. The beadboard which is on the bottom half of the wall will just be white.. Then the top half will look like the walls in the picture... I'm so ready to do it now.. After the walls are painted I'm getting rid of my big hunky computer desk I have now and am going to build me a workspace/computer desk that will have room for my desktop, room for my laptop and room for my sewing machine...with lots of workspace. i'm so excited.. i have sooooo many ideas of things i want to do but i feel like i don't have a space to do it.. once i get this room organized and fresh just the way i want it... i feel like things will all fall together.
